Windows update will not install

I am trying to install Vista update KB929735 but it fails every time with
error code 80073712. Can anyone help? I have tried to run reg delete
HKLM\COMPONENTS /v StoreDirty but this just throws up an error. Can anyone
help?

I have been told to try http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931712
But this does not work. I am losing my patience with Windows Vista, and the
replies I get on here makes me think that Microsoft doesn't know the answer.

To avoid the frustration of getting repeated recommendations, always reply
to (at least one of) your original threads, please:

http://groups.google.com/group/micro...905bf8973c0a8b

http://groups.google.com/group/micro...8247b7ef77c58d

(It's not enough to give your new thread the same Subject.)

This is a peer-to-peer support newsgroup. With very few exceptions, no one
here represents Microsoft.

Customers in the U.S. and Canada can receive technical support from
Microsoft Product Support Services at 1-866-PCSAFETY. There is no-charge for
support calls that are associated with security updates. When you call,
clearly state that your problem is related to a Security Update and cite the
update's KB number (e.g., KB931678).

In other countries, see http://support.microsoft.com/security > "No-Charge
Support...for virus and other security-related" issues in right-hand menu
for localized contact information.

Okay, I've looked up the acronym PBUAK and I've found that it means "****ing
Bear Under A Kamala."

Beyond this, I have no idea why (or whether) it's humorous -- unless it's
similar to a user's looking for the AnyKey button to press in order to
continue.

Would someone explain if I'm missing something really funny? :>

Thanks.

Hi PA Bear,

I guess it was the lack of the letter "E" in the original acronym that you
posted, which threw me off.

I had Googled on PBUAK rather than PEBUAK, and "****ing Bear Under A Kamala"
is what's listed for PBUAK. (And I still have no idea what THAT expression
means.)

Hello Taurarian,

I've already responded to PA Bear about why I came up with "****ing Bear
Under A Kamala" for PBUAK. I found a few links by Googling that acronym and
here is one:
http://www.mombu.com/microsoft/windo...e2-473193.html

Still, whatever "****ing Bear Under A Kamala" means, I sure don't have any
idea.
