Paul, I spent a good deal of time last night updating 3 drivers on my
Toshiba laptop that prevented SP1 from appearing in Windows Update-- the
fingerprint reader (UDEK), sound (Realtek), and video (Intel). The
biggest pain was Realtek because it only installs the HD Audio feature
if you install it repeatedly (last night I had to do 3 installs, before
it gave me audio on the headphone jack and the HD Audio application in
Control Panel). Brink pointed that out to me last night, and his advice
was spot-on. Today, I am backing up critical data to a USB (WD) HDD. I
am hoping the update goes according to Hoyle...
