I am receiving error 800b0100 and the installation fails. I have talked with
a MS technician and he doesn't suggest anything other than a reformat. Other
than this one failed installation the computer functions perfectly.

I think it started when I did a system restore to a time prior to when I
hadalready had KB933360 installed (not failed). Ever since the system
restore (I think I went back 5 days which is too many) and even though the
update was supposed to have been successfuly installed, when I run system
restore I get a new important update to install. When I try to install it, I
get that the file has failed. The file has to do with setting the correct
time for Daylight Savings Time. I am sure I can make the adjustment myself
but I am not sure than any new updates will work. When I hide the one file,
Windows Update shows that it is up to date and that there are no new updates.

I have a laptop that shows in Windows Update that it is also up to date and
that there are no new files to update.

Is there any way I can download manually a update to see if it the updates
will work and that it is just this one file. When I've tried to download to
the desktop and manually install, I still get the failed installation for the
KB933360.

Please help. I really don't want to have to reformat and install Vista.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi, I had a very similar problem. I resolved it by going to microsoft
download center. In upper right corner I typed in kb93360 where it says
search microsoft.com for and click ok. Click continue where it says
validation required. Download kb933360 to your computer. It worked for me
problem was resolved.
