I have the same problem. I submitted an official support request to the
Windows Update support team and they could not solve it. (I posted in this
newsgroup recently, also, but received no replies.)

Still looking nito the exact cause but i found that by holding down the
"Ctrl" key while clicking on the link seems to help.

I know that the3 "Ctrl" key is a way to temporarly stop the popup and script
blocker from running on a page.

The laughing must be what caused this to be posted as an 'orphan'. Did
the original post disappear in the laughter ?

Then the installed popup/script blocker is what's causing the issue, no?
Would you please post what it is so that others who are also afflicted
with this issue may know ? Thanks.

I found that this can be fixed by disabling all the add-ons for IE (Start >
Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
Then, I went into Internet Options > Programs > Manage add-ons playing with
each add-on on the list. I found that things show up on Windows Update
correctly after I had "BitComet Helper" disabled.
I suggest people having this issue playing with add-ons by disabling each
single one of them at a time in order to find out which one is the killer.

My laptop is running on Windows XP SP2 with IE7.
