Are there Updates that needed to be run by Domain Admins member? I have
users that are member of local Administrator group can not run Windows
Updates. They failed on them. I just want to confirm if this is by design.

Thank you.

Same issue here. Would like response, or link to another thread. Cannot
update to SP2 or download IE 7.0. I am an "administrator" according to my
computer, but not according to Windows Updates. I have tried troubleshooting
Group Policies, registry, user/group accounts. Cannot locate issue.

Hi Groovy
There are other threads re probs with update from SP1 to SP2 and for the
moment there does not appear to be any one solution - different posters have
found different solutions may work for them. There are more I would say,
last month than this.
MS give advice on how to prepare for upgrade, install and then trouble-shoot
after.
A search on Google will also bring up ideas.
I would suggest that 'you' look through the threads whilst waiting for a
response. There are links to help and different suggested methods in these
threads.
Good hunting

Forgot to ask why you should want more problems with IE7 - unless you are a
betaware tester and you have a second machine on which to test -

LOL re IE7 - I use FireFox as my primary browser. I have a secondary
machine, but I am not "testing" anything. I just wanted to update my
software.

I found a thread which provided me with the solution, so all is good.

As for whether or not SP2, Microsoft Office updates, or other Microsoft
updates are designed for installation only by domain admins, you would have
to ask MS. I don't know Bills' phone #.

Sorry bro.
