In trying to install update XP KB913670 it just tells me it did not install -
no error message - no nothing - but everytime I shut down my computer this
update still tries to install - I have a long running list in my updates of
it trying to install. How can I get rid of this update so it goes away -
since it will not install. I no longer have update XP KB912475 on my computer
as the IT section of this advised to delete it. What can I do - it is an
annoyance -
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What I did was to delete all reference to KB912475 using the regedit method,
then reinstalled KB912475 which gave me the uninstall files, then visited WU and
the update downloaded, installed and removed 912475.

See what "Unk" wrote below.

BugWorm'i

Run regedit (START > RUN type regedit)
Find KB912475 (EDIT > FIND type KB912475)
Delete (EDIT > DELETE)
Repeat for all references to KB912475
Download the original KB912475 update and install it again
http://au.download.windowsupdate.com...db899d851d.exe

Run the KB913670 update (START > All Programs > MicroSoft Update).

This should Install KB913670 to remove KB912475. If not, then write an
e-mail to Bill.

What a bloody joke!

Nothing is working and it is still asking to be installed. Can someone give
me step by step instructions - I am not computer literate to some extents.
Thanks.
