windows update problem HELP PLEASE!!

when i select windows update either from the start menu or from the control
panel i get othing but a blank white bow, i eventually have to shut it down
from task manager and exploere has to restart any ideas?

Open the (Vista) Start Menu search Bar and type: RUN

Click OK

Type the following lines and after each one click OK:-

regsvr32 jscript

regsvr32 vbscript

regsvr32 /i mshtml
