Hi to all,

We encountered a windows update problem on our file server running on
Windows 2003 Appliance Edition. It is actually on DL100 NAS server of HP.While
clicking the update, I receive an error "Access Denied Network policy
settings prevent you from using Windows Update to download and install
updates on your computer.
If you believe you have received this message in error, please check with
your system administrator."
I did try to disable the "Remove access to use all windows upadte feature"
in the Group Policy on the local machine using the gpedit command but with no
luck..
Could someone help me on how to activate the windows update on this machine
or how to solve this issue.

are you an administrator? i would suggest think about your active directory
and remembering the hierchy levels and how rights are distributed. also
instead of using the update tool, download each update indivually as an exe
file from microsoft.com

I am having the same issue. It is an HP NAS2000. I am logging in with admin
rights and this NAS is in the same OU as other servers that don't have this
problem.

I just found out from HP Support that you need to have an update of Storage
software. You will probably want to contact them to get the right version
for your hardware.
