I just updated my laptop from windows XP to windows vista home premium.
Following the upgrade I started the windows update program inorder to fix all
known bugs, originally I was able to see all of the information and buttons
associated with the screen. Now whene ever I start the update to check for
new errors, all i can see is the basic screen with a check in the shield and
a green bar, and a question mark logo and arrow up and down arrows on the
right side. I have tried redownloading and installing the windows update but
it says i am unable to do so. I've also tried uninstalling the program to
redo it, but am unable to find it on the remove programs list. Any one have
any ideas? I can send a screen print image for any one who would want to see
a copy of the screen that I see.

Hey,

I'm having exactly the same problem. I can see several buttons and icons,
but no text at all. Luckily, I had already turned automatic updates on, so
the updates are coming down, but I can't update manually.
