windows update detects that 'malicious software removal tool' (KB890830)
needs installing.
go to install updates>
follow instructions 'to install these updates click install'>
'updates were uable to be installed'>
'you did not accept the EULA'

sorry, but I didn't see an EULA on the way..... :-/

any ideas?

I'm having the same problem...
Windows update is really slow (search for updates take 10 minutes on high
speed connection)...
Then it says that KB890830 cannot be installed as EUA was not accepted... -
it does not show the EULA!!!! (Neither using automatic updates nor through
the Windows Update web site)...

I'm running WinXP Home SP2

Any help?

Are you using a popup blocker?

Try disabling it?

Nope... - no other pop up blocker than the one included in SP2...

The problem has solved itself, sudenly after several days, the update was
installed by the automatic update manager... :-/

So everything seams to work except that searching for updates at the windows
update website is still really slow... - it takes more than 10 minuetes on
this computer even though other computers on the same connection manage to
fetch the update list in seconds...

Apparently MS updates this removal tool every month so I hope that in a month
my automatic installer will finally continue. (It has been on 6% for a
couple of days now and when I do an update I get the same 'Didn't accept
EULA' while there is no EULA popping up to accept. The installer gave me the
advice to reinstall, rerun in fact, the malicious softw rem tool but during
this: also no EULA to accept. ...although the tool runs completely...)
I'll keep you informed!
