Windows UPdate Requires registration

I have just bought a new acer laptop and when running windows update for the
first time everything worked.
after I tried to set up my outlook express email account i kept getting a
message in windows update when i ran it that requires me to register some
files, which it says it can do and then goes through the motions.
however i seem to be stuck in a loop, and i never get passed the express
button in windows update
I have a screen shot but am not sure how to load that here

Any help please?

Some have reported that simply re-registering the MSXML3.DLL seems to fix the
problem.
1. Click Start.
2. Choose Run.
3. In the Run box, type: regsvr32 MSXML3.DLL
Press okay

If that hasn't helped you may need to re-registered some more files:

1. Click Start.
2. Choose Run.
3. In the Run box, type (pressing okay after each one) :-

net stop wuauserv

Repeat for the following:
regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll
regsvr32 MSXML3.dll
regsvr32 qmgr.dll
regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll

net start wuauserv
