Windows update saying I need to install sp2 even though its instal

I installed Windows XP home which came with service pack 2. However, when I
go to Windows Update it is still telling me I need to download sp2. I
decided I would go ahead and install it again through the update site. After
I installed it, my computer is hanging. Does anyone know why windows update
is not detecting sp2 after a fresh install? Any ideas on how to prevent
this? Thank you in advance.
