Windows Update Service reboots computer in loop

Running XP Home on a Dell and after I install the new Windows Update Service
the computer will just reboot after five minutes of use, remove it abd
perform a System Restore all is fine, install the update service again and
same thing.

Thank you for your reply, but it seems even after I download the IE6 patch,
then the computer will start to reboot every 5 minutes until I restore back
to an earlier time.
