Windows update site times out on arrival, says the website encount

I have second copy of Windows XP installed an a slave drive. When I try to
update, the website takes a very long time to load, then I get the following
message: "The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the
page....".

I updated OK a few days ago (from the original CD installation), and I have
no problem updating my (more up-to-date) version of Windows XP on my master
drive, and also I have no problem updating Windows 2000 on the second
partition of my slave drive. (My master drive only has one partition)

Any ideas?
