I don't think this is really a problem or anything, but the windows update
system icon just sits there all the time. When I mouse over, it says
"Downloading Updates: 0%". Everything I have it upto date. It's just an
annoyance basically.

I have the same problem.... But when I go into updates I don't even see SP2!
I have auto update on but nothing ever shows up to download.

Hello,

I would like to investigate the "Downloading Updates 0%" issue. Can you send
me your %windir%\windowsupdate.log? (remove the online. to get to the email
adress you can send me the log)
Thank you,

Gigel A [MSFT]

I have a little problem where sp2 installed just fine on a test partition
with a clean install of XP Home, then sp1, and some critical updates, but...

That little red icon alerts me with a balloon at every startup that I've
turned off auto-update and I will be destroyed by the evil ones -- and I
would really like to get rid of it because I restart alot and always have to
click it off.

I'd like to get rid of the message, and the little icon. It shouldn't be
there with auto update turned off.
