Hi for sometime i havent been able to get the window update to work on our
win2k sp4 server.
when i go to the wu site it says you must be using msoft software to get
downloads, it seems to think the server is a mac. Any ideas?

thanks

Dee;
Follow this:

Look for "When attempting to access the Windows Update Web site you receive
the following message: Thank You -- you must be running a Microsoft windows
operating system in order to use windows update"

Otherwise follow the Windows Update Checklist:

Don't know if it would work on your server, but for along long time I had a
similar problem on WINXP SP2. I could receive WIN AU but could not access WU
manually. I was always forwarded with the same message to Mac url address,
until I received AU for JAVA.
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 update 2. Just a shot?.
