Windows update turns off nomatter what

My windows update turns off, ive tried to turn it on by goin to control pnael
and making sure automatic update is on, and i've made sure in the services
event log, background intelligence and automatic updates are automatic and
started and not disabled. but i still can't get windows update to work. i
need help urgently!!!!

You may be seeing the affects of a hijackware infection (cf.

1. See if you can download/run the MSRT manually:

2. Run this online scan (in safe mode w/networking, if need be):

3. Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting the requested
logs in an appropriate forum.
