Windows Update v6 very slow

Hi,

Anyone else been having problems with Windows Update v6? When I connect it
takes an age during the "checking for the lastest updates for your comptuer"
stage and sometimes crashes out with a request could not be completed error.

This is happening on multiple PCs. Connections to other web sites are fine.

It does take a good bit of time, even on broadband. Then also, you have to keep traffic there as another factor.

Regarding "crashes" or error messages:
Do look at your WindowsUpdate.log file (located in the \Windows folder or the \WINNT folder, as appropriate).
Scan down to the bottom for the most recent entries.

If you do have Errors it is very helpful if you would post the code + the text description.
