Windows update for Vista - error code 80070005?

We have upgraded our monitor to an hp hdmi 2207 , the driver from windows
update will not install. it comes up with that error code. The monitor
hesitates, and we cannot use media player. Can someone help ????

And if you download & attempt to install the driver from HP Support, what
happens?

Thanks for the info PA Bear.

Unfortunately hp support has no driver for this monitor, we have the disk
from the original packaging for the new monitor. When we try to install the
driver manually , vista tells us it is not compatible with our video card.
Which is NVidia. Should we just upgrade our video card ?

I have the same issue with my HPw2207h monitor and I've yet to find a
permanant fix. There is a temporary solution ..... hard reset of the Monitor
and PC (unplug power cords and hold down the power buttons for 10 - 15
seconds). The display setting can then be adjusted to 1650 but the display
settings get screwed up again after the system is restarted normally.
Looking for help here.

Did you check the HP site -

There appears to be some drivers available for Vista.
