Windows Update vs Microsoft Update

I'm attempting to get updates for Windows Live Mail.
When I click Help|Check for updates I'm sent to a web page directing me
to install Microsoft Update. But I'm presented with the following error
after I click the 'Start now' and the 'Continue' buttons":

'The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are
trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem'

How do I get updates for Windows Live Mail?

Windows Update states that I'm set to receive updates 'For Windows and other
products from Microsoft Update.'

Does that include Windows Live Mail??

Edition of said operating system?
Architecture of said operating system?
Service pack level of said operating system?
Anything you have done to fix the issue yourself?
Antivirus software you utilize?
Any third party firewalls involved?
