Sankar,
I did the SP 1 install as well as the VIA IDE update. Upon restart, I got
the blue screen of death crash screen with the STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78BE524,
0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) error message.
(also, the other posts list this), but I just turned the power on/off, and
then when it reboots, it gives you a Windows recovery screen; choose to
restart Windows from the last known valid state, any other choice will give
you the blue screen of death again. Choosing to restart from the last good
configuration of Windows will let you boot up.
When I came back in, my VS '05 SP 1 had installed. If it didn't for you, I
would check Windows Update again to see if it is available, (or check your
update history to see if it failed or succeeded). You can try downloading
and installing it again if it failed.
