Windows Update wants me to reinstall 7/10/07 updates

Update installed 7 updates on my Vista 7/10/07and they were successful. Since
7/11 Updates has been prompting me to download and install these same
updates. This is getting annoying and would like to put a stop to it. I have
verified these were installed on 7/10, so why this nuisance? I set updates to
be notified prior to download.

My computer is doing the same thing.
It said the update was sucessful but after restart it said it failed.
Now everytime I'm online it downloads again reinstalls restarts and says it
failed.
This is to the tune of eight times now.
How do I get this to stop?

Start a free Windows Update support incident request:
https://support.microsoft.com/oas/de...spx?gprid=6527

Tip: Temporarily disable real-time protection by your anti-virus and/or
anti-spyware applications (e.g., CounterSpy, Spysweeper, Spybot, AVG
Anti-Spyware) and/or any third-party firewall (e.g., ZA).

PA Bear: I tried to disable AVG, Spybot, ZA, etc. Nothing changed. Should I
close those programs entirely, which I don't want to do while online, and how
does all of this correct the Updates messages? What do I do, or is everything
"automatic" when I disable? I need more specific info. Thanks.

I would /try/ disabling Spybot TeaTimer (if enabled). And if you're running
ZA Free, uninstall it temporarily and re-enable the Windows Firewall. No
guarantees but...

PA Bear: I don't use Tea Timer and don't trust Windows Firewall alone.
Again, how does all of this correct the Updates messages? What do I do, or is

I too have exactly the same problem. so it can not be our computers or
antispyware or firewalls. Why did previous updates install properly. The
fault must lie at Microsoft update program surely

[We all have lives outside of this newsgroup, and some of us are even known

PA Bear: I believe you misunderstood. Lost just means not around, etc. It was
not meant as a complaint. I checked the three links below and none of them
fit my situation. I have asked you 3 times but still no answer. What happens
after I tried all of your suggestions? Your suggestion appears to be only the
first part of a solution. I feel left out in limbo.
