Windows Update - Windows 2k Pro

Looking for available updates is stuck at 0%, there is no hd activity at all.
I've looked at several posts specifically the ones authored by Patti McLeod
but the suggested commands apply to Win XP. Do they also apply to Win2k Pro
or is there another, separate solution?
