Hello,
I've finally got the chance to load XP64 on my HP Pavilion a810n, but
now it fails on Windows Update. I get a Windows Update error. Is there
something I'm missing?

Thanks
Phillip

Windows XP 64-bit version is a "beta version".
There are no public updates available for it.
The error message you see is normal when using
a beta version of Windows.

Get Windows XP Service Pack 2 with Advanced Security Technologies:

Phillip;
Nothing else missing.
There are no updates for the 64 bit Beta and there are no plans for updates.
The closest there is to updates is a new build.
If you have RC-2, do not even expect that.

You should post further questions in the 64 bit newsgroups:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...l/support.mspx
The Server newsgroup is correct.

Windows Server 2003 64-bit version is not a "beta" operating system.

I just looked @ the cd cover and it says evaluation kit pre-release software,
I thought that was just another name for beta.
Thanks agine

Hey Phillip:

If you go and look under administrator options it will give you an option to
look for updates to the X64 applications.
I used that when trying to find any updates.
You have to be carefull that you choose the right one or it will find a
gazillion of updates that you really do not need and that are wery old.
I hope this helps
