Windows Update always gives me an error when trying to manually update from
the website. The error message says I may not have administrative
privilledges and I should try to 'run as' administrator.. but the login I'm
using is the only administrator on the machine.

FYI Critical Updates do automatically download -- it's just the windows
update website that doesn't work for me.

<mindreadingcapon> Is this XP ... was there a Repair Installation done ?
If yes, open a Command Prompt [Start>Run>type in cmd, Click OK] and then
type these commands in, pressing Enter after each one

net stop wuauserv
regsvr32 wups2.dll
net start wuauserv
exit

</mindreadingcapon>

Yes, it is XP but there has been no repair installation done. I tried
registering the dll you suggested anyway, but that had no effect.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

regards
