Windows Update XP KB911567 breaks Outlook Express

After applying Microsoft Update XP KB911567, Outlook Express was broken. I
could download email but when trying to reply to an email the following
errors popped up. "The address book failed to load. Outlook Express is
incorrectly configured, Please re-install" After clicking Ok for the error
message another window popped up ""There was an error opening the message.
An error has occured."

This error outcome was replicated when I restored to a previous version,
allowed the update to install again a few days later. The same result after
applying XP KB911567. This time I simply uninstalled the update with
Add/Remove. It immediately corrected the issue, even without a reboot or
system restore.

Is there going to be a patch for the broken update? Or is there a fix for
the fix?

Have no idea Anna, this update broke more than you have stated...some of us
that use stationery had trouble and had to remove this update...Which is for
the wab (address book) not stationery.

Thanks for the additional information. However, it was an UPDATE that broke
OE so I posted it here. Uninstall the update [911567] and the problem goes
away.
