Following a recent Automatic Update when I go to Windows Help & Support -
Keep your computer up to date with Windows Update I get the message that it
is connecting then the window goes blank. If I go to IE7, Tools, Windows
Update I can see that I am trying to connect to
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/. However if I search through the MS
website I find the address http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/
Using this site everything works but I cannot access it any other way other
than manually typing the address in

Use the link from the Start button (menu) > All Programs > Windows Update

Look again. Just hover your mouse over the "All Programs". The very first panel should have that link at the top portion.
Otherwise, select Start > then RUN > then type in
wupdmgr.exe

and press OK - Enter

Sorry I tried looking again and it was exactly where you said - I must get my
eyes tested. However clicking on this produced exactly the same address
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and a blank screen. I have updated to XP3
in a hope that this would fix it. My PC is dual boot with 2 XP installations
on it. The second installation which has not downloaded the recent updates is
only used as a backup and is fine and goes to the update page.

Your help appreciated

Malcolm
