Windows Updates and Active X

Hi everyone--

I am trying to do something that I thought was straight forward-- manually
look for new Windows updates. I don't use IE 6.0 that often from the desktop.

When I try to get to the updates, I get the Active X pop-up and follow the
steps to install Active X & accept (?) the certificate. Yet, IE continues to
prompt me with 'Windows has found a problem with the file. Publisher: Unknown
Publisher'

Any thoughts on how I can get Active X on the PC? Thanks, Mitch
