Windows updates and Conficker ?

Hi all, I have a quick question I hope. At work I have XP Pro computers some
at SP2 and some at SP3. I also have Windows 2000 machines all at SP4.

I have been way to busy to get everything done that needs done as I am in
peak season. I have researched this a little but not for sure answers.

So my easy question here is without installing SP3 for XP on the machines
remaining that I have not gotten to yet do I have the updates to protect me
from conficker by having all other Windows updates installed, or must I put
SP3 in to get that protection?

Thanks guys, I had all updates done and was very busy with a change at work.
I was glad to hear that the updates were all required as I did not and still
do not have time to finish updateing all machines to SP3 for XP. I expect to
do that next month some time.
