Windows updates constantly fail

Per MowGreen's previous post, I have tried the two below
articles in trying to tackle this problem, of my computer
not accepting any new updates. As a network
administrator I have ran across this problem rather
frequently, however, in this particular case I should
mention that these updates were being installed after an
XP repair reinstall. (The machine affected is a Dell
Laptop that needed the BIOS updated) as a result of the
OS not seeing the motherboard as ACPI compliant. All
updates successfully installed prior to me reinstalling
the OS.

Anyhow, if there is any additional information that would
be helpful, please let me know. As you can see, I am
getting the error:
