I am experiencing the same problem. I would be extremely grateful for all of
eternity or at least moderately appreciative for a couple of hours if someone would nudge me in the right direction on this one. Thanks. "update failure" wrote: > I also am having the same problem. No, not as of yet. Short of reformatting, but I don't want to restore all
the settings and reinstall all the programs. "update failure" <update > wrote in message news:5396F8E3-3D24-4F1F-BEF5-... >I also am having the same problem. I've been searchinghigh and low for a solution to this problem also. It
seems more and more people are having this install problem with updates. I've been searching for answers but not a definitive one yet. If windowsupdate downloads the updates onto your pc then you can install them manually. It would be nice to have it done like the good old days, though. Three cheers for Microsoft! Update Services installation issues: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=906602 1. See the "Need more help? You cannot install some updates or programs http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;822798 3a. Check Windowsupdate.log (%windir%\Windowsupdate.log) for errors associated with the download/install. How to read the Windowsupdate.log file: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=902093 3b. Compare errors to those listed here: http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/archive...date_codes.htm and/or go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com > click on Help and Support link in left pane > Solve problems on your own. 4. Windows Update Checklist: http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/updtcl.htm Free phone support for problems associated with installing Windows Updates is available via 1-800-PC-SAFETY. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Shell/User, Security), Aumha.org VSOP, DTS-L.org Bradley Walker wrote: > For the past two months I've been unable to get Windows/Microsoft Update > site to install the dozen or so updates that I want to install. I found this to be the predominately largest error in the log:
0x8024A000 -2145083392 WU_E_AU_NOSERVICE AU was unable to service incoming AU calls Any ideas on how to solve that?
