Hi,

I have a problem in which most of the Windows Updates fail to install on a
clean windows Vista install

My config is as follows:

Vista Home Premium 32Bit

User & ProgramData Folders are on Drive D (Using Vista's Unattend.xml Option)

Program Files was moved to Drive D After install

Junction point were made for everyone of those folders on the C Drive that
point to D Drive

Everything else works fine beside these updates

Can someone tell me what went wrong ?

How to troubleshoot Windows Update, Microsoft Update, and Windows Server
Update Services installation issues:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=906602

1. See the "Need more help? Tell us what problem you are having" section of
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=ph;en-us;6527

2. You cannot install some updates or programs
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;822798

3a. Check Windowsupdate.log (%windir%\Windowsupdate.log) for errors
associated with the download/install.

How to read the Windowsupdate.log file

3b. Compare errors to those listed here:

and/or go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com > click on Help and Support
link in left pane > Solve problems on your own.

I've tried everything
It's something to do with the Program Files, ProgramData and Users Folders
on the D Drive
