The following 6 little buggers have failed repeatedly. I take solace in
knowing other are in the same boat-misery does indeed love company-but
wonder, aside from paying Microsoft $ to fix, what can we do? I have read
that it is their policy not to charge for support when problems are related
to Updates. Has anyone out there resolved this issue without paying big $?

Here are the ones I have that failed:
KB951548
KB955439
KB921598
KB948988
KB955434
KB954464

KB article numbers mean nothing to me and I generally have to look them up so
I only looked up a couple (time permitted) and noted that one relates to
Office Excel 2003 and another to a Viewer for Office.

For the Viewer update/s, they require the original source which was most
likely deleted after the successful install of the viewer, Suggest you remove
the Viewer and download the latest one.

As for the others, in a majority of cases for Office updates they require
the source CD, if not then it is recommended that you download the full files
(if the CD is not available).

If I'm totally on the wrong track, perhaps you could provide more details as
to the error codes etc (located in the windowsupdate.log) or any error
messages when the installation fails.
