To be helpful in troubleshooting this issue, could you
please reply to a few questions?
1. Which Operating System are you running:
a. Windows XP Professional
b. Windows XP Home Edition
c. Windows 2000 Professional
d. Windows 2000 Server
e. Windows Millennium Edition (Windows ME)
f. Windows 98
2. Which service pack, if any (in Windows 2000 or XP,
simply right-click on My Computer, and look in the General
tab):
a. SP1
b. SP2
c. SP3
d. SP4
3. Have updates worked on this computer in the past? Were
you able to access the Windows Update site before without
issue from this computer?
4. If yes, what has changed recently? Did someone install
new software onto the machine to change the system such as
an antivirus program?
