task bar stuck on 0% then about 5 days prior i had info
come up saying they r ready for installation, i clicked
yes and it come back saying the updates could not be
installed? Now it just sits in my taskbar stuck on 0% so
if someone has any idea , I never have experienced this

Your not the Lone Ranger!
I've had the little world of updates stuck in the tray for several days
myself.
I've tried several different approaches; to no avail.
I even tried the "error 0x80248011" solution which was recomended by someone
with a similar situation. Huh, that was fun but...no cigar. I'll let ya know
if I find the magic potion.

Hmmm, I stopped the service a third time and it seems to have finally
stopped! (run, Services.msc 'automatic updates' right click: STOP).

First time this has happened to me also. Don't know what the deal is. None of
my xp computers (4 in all) will update to xps2. They all fail. before they
even start to download. Yet all other updates work just fine........so you
got me

I don't know if it's the same issue, but when I click the
link to look for updates, it keeps eternally looking and
never comes back with the list of available updates ...
Very bad work from Microsoft...
