Windows Updsate not working

I installed Office Professional in July to my XP Home Edition. Since then, I
have not been able to receive updates from Microsoft.

I activated the regsvr32 qmgr.dll and regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll files, and then
activated BITS to Automatic.

When I turn the Compter off, BITS returns to Manual.

Additionally, Update is still not working.

Any other ideas?
