windows version upgrade?

I have windows xp home edition version: Windows 5.1(Build
2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254:service pack 2) My question is : what is the
next upgrade for my computer? is vista the only step up upgrade for me?

I have WinXP Pro SP2 which is the next version up from Home.
So you do not have to get Vista yet.

But you had better buy a WinXp Disc soon as I have heard that Ms will not
be allowing Dell and the other companies to install Win Xp Pro SP2 after
June.

The next "service pack" for Windows XP is SP3.

SP3 (final) is due somewhere between now and June 2008 (when it's ready). The beta version
is available now. I suggest that you wait for the final release and don't install the Beta
release.

The next operating system after Windows XP is Vista.
