recovery partition (D

If the computer could still boot to the original OS then all you had to do
was go to the HP tools folder and start the Recovery from the program icon
there. If the computer cannot boot to Windows, accessing your system
recovery would be something like press [F10] during boot-up sequence to
start the recovery installer from D: drive (it has its own OS). Then there
are usually 2 choices, non-destructive recovery which does not wipe out the
harddrive contents and destructive recovery which reformats the drive and
puts the OS/software back to factory installed condition.
