Whenever I try to open any of the Microsoft Office 2007 betas in windows
vista, an 'updater' opens up trying to update office. This is a great thing
you have built into windows vista, but since there is only the beta version
of office 2007, the programs will not update and cannot be opened. The only
way I can open the programs, is to create a new file for them (Right-click
--> New --> Word Document) and open that. Even then, the program will open,
but the updater will run uselessly inturrupting program input. This is
extremely annoying, especially in Visio 2007 and discourages me from office
2007. Is there a way to disable this auto-update feature? If there isn't, and
this bug is not fixed, I am thinking of going back down to Windows XP and not
going to Vista for the final release.
