Windows Vista Home Premium: Sidebar Issues

I just purchased a Gateway FX 6000 Series.
*Windows Vista 64 Bit. Windows Vista Home Premium

Apparently this type of Windows is not compatible with many Deskto
Program and Applications

No Google Desktop compatibility – and it also seems the Window
Sidebar Gadgets don’t have comprehensive options. For example when
post a Slideshow Gadget, I can’t even adjust the size of the window.
Same with the “Notes”, it only stays one size

Another program I used on my previous PC was POST IT NOTES, and i
also is not compatible

Am I missing something with the options? This type of Vista seem
extremely limited. Is it meant to be? Or is it something new

Any help on this would be great
Thank
-Niko

Try here:

Starts the 32 bit sidebar in Vista.

So what do I do exactly after this?

I closed and re-opened and it still doesn't allow me to stretch images
or notes on the desktop.....

Do I need to reboot?

I put the shortcut into the startup like you stated, what exactly about
that procedue makes it 32 bit?

As far as I am aware, the Gadgets are all a set size and cannot be
'stretched'; I have Vista Home Premium 32 and there's no flexibility to them
at all. They are either there, or you can shut the sidebar down (or delete
some of the Gadgets).

Did you follow all directions? When Vista is started, the 32bit version
will load. Loading the sidebar from the x86 folder loads the 32bit version
and not the 64bit version. Please give more detail what your problem is.
Are you problems all related to the sidebar or are you saying other
applications are not working also? Your subject refers only to sidebar
issues.
