I've read several posts about problems relating to the Vista magnifier.

Just a suggestion. The Free ZOOMIT magnifier works great with
Vista and is much easier to use. When you want to use Zoomit it
enlarges the entire visual area of your monitor and allows you to
use the mouse to move things around so you can view them better.

Just a simple right click or hitting escape turns it on. There is a key
command (you can use default or establish your own) that turns
it on.

Go to Microsoft Sysinternals

Not bad and potentially usedful, unlike the built-in magnifier. I just wish
Microsoft would code their magnifier to work like the built-in in MacOS. It
does not need to be as full function as ZoomText or MAGic. ZoomIt is a lot
closer.
The best description would be Vista/s or ZoomIt are like holding a
magnifying lens in front of a touch sensitive screen -- you get magnification
but your finger bounces of the lens.
ZoomText, MAGic and the MacOS built-in, give you the lens, but you fingers
interact with the screen like normal.
I have a lot of clients who need basic magnification to make their computer
use more, well.... usable. Shelling out $300 for one of the commercial
products is an expense they do not need, unless their vision issues are far
worse. I have tried just about every "free" and "cheap" magnification
program around -- not one can compare.
Sorry about the slight rant there... just that Microsoft could easily add
the basic function of magnification that ZoomText provides to serve those
people who would never buy or need the full power.
