I have Windows Mail and have a lot of problems with it. Can I download
Outlook Express from somewhere and use that instead? I've checked
Microsoft's website, but can't seem to find it.

I keep getting messages stuck in the outbox. I found a fix at oehelp.com
but it's a pain to have to do it every time. My husband's computer (vista
also) has messages in his in box that he can't delete and yesterday he got a
message stuck in the outbox.

Kathi, I believe that this is not exactly a problem with windows mail
itself...

what ISP or email service are you using?

What antivirus are you using? (some antivirus stall the sending of
emails and they time out)

have you tried the setting in Tools> accounts> (select account)
properties button> advanced tab and then pulling the timeout lever all
the way to the RIGHT? see screenshot below of this setting in outlook
express but its the same thing for windows mail
