When I try to go to the registration web page Here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvist...n/default.mspx

and when I click on "Continue Registration" Nothing happens, and an error
shows up in the status bar. What's going on here?? Is the website broken?

Thanks.

I think it's been like that since February when I first activated. It's like
that page links back to itself.
Honestly, I don't remember how I got around that, but I'm sure I did.

Hi, Dude.

Yep, it's broken. I get that error, too.

Maybe someone who understands web page programming will notice it and fix
it. I've used the "Contact Us" button on that page to report the error.

As you probably know: Registration is optional. Activation is mandatory.
They are not the same thing.

Registration tells Microsoft about you. Activation tells only about your
hardware.

Thanks for the reply,

I really want to register my copy of Windows Vista, because I just purchased
it from NewEgg.com, and the box did not look like it was sealed. I want to
make sure nobody in their shipping warehouse copied the Activation key or
something. (Windows seemed to activate just fine, but I dont want to go and
try and re-install it 6 months from now, and have it come back as some sort
of key that is locked out because someone else is using it 27 copies of it.)
Can anyone recommend what I should do to verify that I am the only person
using this copy of windows? Should I call Microsoft?

After all, I just paid $358 for the full version of the dam thing... I want
it to be Legit!

Thanks again!

Dude, you are right!

I have the same issue.
When you press "continue" The page loads itself again and iexplorer shows an
error (yellow exlcamation mark in the bottom left corner)

Dear Microsoft!
If you offer an option to register please make sure it works or notify us on
the registration page that this feature is not available. Thanks.
