I would NOT attempt to download/install Vista SP1 unless and until it's
offered by Windows Update, BK.
One assumes you've been able to install some updates since you've owned the
machine. Look in Control Panel | Security | Windows Update | View installed
updates, and tell us:
1. When (what date) was the last update installed successfully?
2. What is the name of that update?
