About two thirds of the time when i load my computer the Windows Vista
Sidebar does not load. It is a darker shade of the background and
nothing that looks like a gagget shows up. If I click on it a couple
times, it will ask me to close, restart, or wait on the program to
respond.
The biggest problem is that this doesn't just seem like a sidebar
issue. When this happens, AutoCAD will not load. My outlook spell
check does not work. Microsoft Word does not load, although Excel
does load.
If I disable Sidebar at startup, this same thing happens. The times
when all those programs do not work, it i try to start sidebar, it
will not work.
I have tried the following fix and it does not work.
1. Start an elevated privileges command prompt
2. cd "\Program Files\Windows Sidebar"
3. regsvr32 -u sbdrop.dll
4. regsvr32 -u wlsrvc.dll
1. From the same elevated command prompt (still in the C:\Program Files
\Windows Sidebar) directory
2. regsvr32 ati.dll
3. regsvr32 sbdrop.dll
4. regsvr32 wlsrvc.dll
I am looking for any suggestion. It is really annoying to have to
reboot your computer several times every morning. Thank you.
