Yeah, its got problems. I thought it was supposed to be an improvement over
xp but until Microsoft fixes some of the serious problems with it like they
went backwards.

Sound works on my vista32 home premium but here's the catch: The only
windows sounds it makes are the logon and logoff - branded sounds. None of
the rest of them are audible even at the same decible level. The only thing
I care about is being warned that my laptop's battery is about to die so I
can save my files before it crashes. But no dice in windows vista. Kinda
defeats the purpose of both sound improvement and portability.

BTW, Microsoft has already been informed about my opinion about the above.

Branded sounds. That maybe a good thing at the beginning but just like with
xp I, like a great many people, will begin to HATE the sound of vista too.
You know how it is with the radio when they start to play a song that you
liked but they play it too much.

There are already plenty of people who get annoyed looks on their faces when
they hear xp play. The sound of xp is now as welcome with some as finger
nails being scrapped across a chalkboard or a baby with cholic. If they
don't change their tune on letting people easily change the sounds they use
from vista they are really going to antagonize their customers even further.
