I had a problem with sound - ocassionally it disappeared. However it was back
again when I restarted my computer. Tried to find a solution in Microsoft
discussion groups, there were many topics with similar problems, but not the
same.
The following action resolved my problem - Control panel - Sound - in
Playback tab right click on Speaker, then click on Test. On this point I
could hear sound without restarting computer. I don't know what was the
problem, but finally I have a solution, hope not temporary
