Windows Vista SP1 RTM

Why did Windows Vista SP1 RTM turn my Vista into an evaluation copy?

It isn't RTM.. it is RC1.. when you uninstall RC1, a second boot sees the
notice gone..

Vista SP1 has not been "Released to Manufacturing", so if you have an RTM
release of it - it is not real or you are from the future. I tend to
believe the former more than the latter.

Vista SP1 does have a "Release Candidate 1" out, so if you have the RC1
release of it - and decided to install beta software on your production
machine - that's your choice and you should have read about the release
candidate carefully before installing it

Windows vista Service Pack 1 is in Beta and not expected to be RTM
until early 2008.
If you have SP-1, you have a Beta, perhaps the latest, RC-1.
If so, that behavior is expected.

Be sure to uninstall the Beta before installing the RTM when released
next year.
Or simply go now to Programs in the control Panel and uninstall it if
you did not intend to install a Beta.
