Windows Vista Ultimate worth the money??? NO!!!!

I dont care what any of you say. Ultimate isn't worth spending hundreds of
dollars on. I'm using Home Premium and I have a friend w\ Ultimate. One day I
compared the 2. They're basically the same except for some stupid features
nobody uses or stuff that you can get for free and install on Vista. The only
thing I would buy it for is Windows DreamScene, but there is a tweak that you
can get that will make it run on any Vista OS Home Premium & up. I would like
to hear your opinion.

Since there is little difference in price on the OEM Versions, I bought
Ultimate.
I don't like the look and feel of any version, so I am not the best one to
get an opinion from.
I haven't had any real issues with the Vista machine.
Other than having the ignition switch in the trunk and the reaeview mirror
in the glovebox...and I think my EX wrote UAC.
What a nag, and serves little purpose other than to irritate intelligent
people.

Home Basic will meet the computing needs of many individuals and families.
But there's more available in thse other editions and if someone wants to
pop for a feature or set of features, so what? Ulitmate has a lot of
features and while you might not make use of them someone else might.

Just like with XP Pro as opposed to Home, someone in Windows Desktop and Web
development wouldn't be using the XP Home edition to do it.

The same holds true for Vista Basic and Premium, with a program developer
not wanting those editions of the Vista O/S(s) to do program development
work, nor would those editions of the Vista O/S(s) be used in a business
environment where the machine must join a domain, along with other things
that cannot be provided in a business environment by Vista HB or HP.

A couple of notes here:
If you "don't care what any of you say" then (1) why are you posting in a
discussion group and (2) why are you interested to "hear your opinion"?!

You also make huge assumptions. "...except for some stupid features nobody
uses". I chose Ultimate specifically for the added extras & I didn't pay
hundreds of dollars/euros/pounds extra for the convenience. That's my
opinion, and I don't appreciate being told that nobody uses them when I
obviously do.

I appreciate all of us use Vista in different ways, with different aims in
mind but at times I do get a mental picture of a child throwing toys out of
a playpen whilst having a tantrum when I read big blatant definitive
negative statements on here.
Personally I don't want to read things like "I hate Vista/Vista is
crap/Ultimate is not worth the money/Microsoft should be hung,drawn and
quartered etc etc etc". It's a waste of space, it serves no helpful purpose
and I personally don't appreciate it.
What I DO appreciate are those posters who highlight a problem and discuss
it in an adult way, trying to find out why they are having a problem, or
helping others that do. I'm on these groups to LEARN and SHARE.
Or maybe we should have a few more discussion rooms created with words like
"rant", "tantrum" and "no-point-to-this-hissy fit" in the title.

In my opinion.
