Okay, so I've had these issues plaguing me for MONTHS and I'm starting to get
really frustrated. First and foremost, I've needed the SP1 for windows
Framework or something like that (would have to check my laptop to be sure)
for several months, and everytime Windows Update attempts to install it, it
fails. Also, the update for my Zune--Fails. This update came out MONTHS
ago...I haven't been able to add new content since then because it won't
recognize my Zune without the update. And now there's an update for Windows
Vista that keeps failing to install. If needed I can get the error
codes...searching Microsoft's FAQs hasn't helped me any, so if anyone can
help me out it'd be greatly appreciated.

I had a ton of troubles using windows update on the 32 bit version o
Vista Home Premium, and came to this solution.

1) restart your compute
2) go to C:/Windows/SoftwareDistribution/Download and delete all th
contents of this folde
3) go to C:/Windows/SoftwareDistribution/DataStore and delete all th
contents of this folde
4) run Windows Updat
5) view available updates
6) right click on each update, and go to the information ur
7) one by one, manually download and install each updat
8) if the url is invalid, which happens frequently, try that on
another day, until it does work. can sometimes take a few day

I know, a pain in the butt, but that was the only way I was able t
assure I never had the problems with Windows Update. Since switching t
the x64 Vista, I have not had any problems with Windows Update though

You might want to post this to the windowsupdate newsgroup for a more comprehensive answer along with any error messages that are shown
